Volunteer Opportunities

Help us build a strong, vibrant community center where everyone is welcome!

The Leu could not keep running without our volunteers!  No matter what you are interested in, we have a place for you!

We have volunteers that help with everything from tutoring to painting and special events. Let's explore our opportunities!

Our athletic offerings vary throughout the year, but we always have something coming up!  There's a lot of demand for low cost sports camps, and we fill that need with the help of our generous volunteer coaches, assistant coaches and referees!

  • Basketball

  • Volleyball

  • Soccer

  • Floor Hockey

The Leu Civic Center has a wide variety of educational enrichment programs and clubs that take place during the day, afternoon and evening.  We are always looking for people to lead and assist in these programs. Here are some examples of our offerings that could use assistance:

  • Reading Center

  • Drama Club

  • Sewing

  • Art

  • Science

  • Engineering

  • Leu News

  • P.E.

  • D & D Club

Community Events

We hold family friendly community events throughout the year! Volunteers can help with set up, take down and running activities! Here is a list of the events we've hosted in the last year plus a couple of new events we're bringing to the Leu!

  • Special Olympics vs. Mascoutah EMS, Police and Firefighters Basketball

  • Metro East Youth Art Show

  • Craft Swap Exchange

  • Homeschool Activity Fair

  • Family Field Day

  • National Night Out Celebration

  • Kids Entrepreneur Fair

  • Halloween Parade and Party

A variety of individuals and groups come to the Leu to help with miscellaneous projects such as painting, gardening and updating our playground and facilities. We could not get these major projects done without their assistance! Everyone who attends the Leu notices the upgrades and appreciates them!

Last year, volunteer coaches also led the Leu Civic Center's Odyssey of the Mind team to OM State and World competitions! OM is a creative thinking competition where coaches help guide their team as the kids create skits or projects based on a prompt. These projects are entirely student led; coaches help by keeping the team on schedule, helping the kids work through differences of opinon and asking questions to help the students figure out their own solutions. There are a lot of families who would like to participate this year, so we are on the lookout for more volunteer coaches!

We appreciate you and all you do! Thank you for your service!!!
