They will then learn how to regulate their bodies and brains together, finding balance between rigidity and chaos. Hands-on learning approaches will be used, including the use of arts and crafts and games, to allow the students to fully absorb the material. Take home activities will be provided each week, with a take home “tool kit” at the end of the session, compiling all they have learned throughout the lessons. Skills taught will include: -Basic anatomy and physiology of the brain -Understanding how their nervous systems respond to their environment and interact with the brain -Identify their own nervous system and bodily responses to their environments -Identify emotions related to their brain and body responses -Learn coping skills to do individually and with others to balance their bodies and brains -Receive take home practice opportunities to involve their families and implement their skills in their home environment
